Rathfarnham Castle and the Berkeley Toy & Costume Collection

Rathfarnham Castle was the venue for the second IMA visit of 2012 and included an opportunity to view the Berkeley Costumes and Toy Collection which is on loan to the venue. The Elizabethan castle was adapted as a stately home in the late 18th century.

Through the generosity of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, ICOM Ireland is enabled to offer a limited number of bursaries to support attendance at professional conferences organised by the International Committees of ICOM.

MA in Historic House Studies

NUI Maynooth has advertised a new full-time MA programme that examines the historic house within its, social, cultural and economic context. It considers issues such as the rise and decline of the country house in Ireland, historic houses as sites for luxury consumption, and the evolution of landed estates and landscapes.
