17-24 May is being organised by the Irish Museums Association to gain visitors for our cultural heritage sites this spring. We have the potential to gain new audiences, provide free and enjoyable experiences, and encourage our visitors to return and use our venues more frequently over the summer.

Ballymena and Banbridge The IMA would wish to congratulate The Braid Town Hall Museum and Arts Centre in Ballymena as overall winner in the RICS Northern Ireland (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) awards for excellence in the built environment announced on 20 May.

Museum of the year went to Kerry County Museum, best exhibition went to Soldiers and Chiefs at the National Museum of Ireland, best education and outreach project went to South Tipperary County...
Museum Standards Programme for Ireland
Accreditation Awards Posted: Friday, 01 May 2009
Museum Standards Programme for Ireland presentations were made by the Heritage Council on 18 May to three more museums. Knock Museum, National Print Museum and Waterford Museum of Treasures were each given full accreditation under the scheme.
