Belfast Charitable Society are holding this half-day seminar, Heritage and Philanthropy, at Clifton House Belfast (Belfast Charitable Society) on 18th May 2017, 9.30am – 1.00pm.
In the heritage sector, many of the cultural assets we are now responsible for preserving and making accessible to the public have come to us through the generosity of others in the past. Their philanthropic acts created a wealth of built heritage, archives and collections for all to share today.
Philanthropy still plays a key role in our work today: whether such funds help us to grow our collections, conserve, preserve, or enhance access to our heritage.
This half-day session takes a brief look back at the importance of philanthropy in the past and then focuses on philanthropic opportunities for us today. We will learn more about trends in global philanthropy and how we can influence these and how individuals and organisations are demonstrating their generosity today.
