Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane is holding a free Study Morning: Irish Exhibitions of Modern Art in the 1960s on Friday 9 September 10am - 1pm, programmed in conjunction with the exhibition The Best of Decades: Painting and Sculpture of the 1960s from the Collection.
This study morning will reflect on the impact of selected exhibitions of modern art in Ireland in the 1960s. There will be four presentations over the morning with time for questions and discussion. The talks will be as follows:
- Art USA Now: The Johnson Collection of Contemporary American Art - Logan Sisley
- Francis Bacon at the Hugh Lane, 1965 - Jessica O'Donnell
- The Carroll's Prizes: Art and Enterprise in 1960s Ireland - Róisín Kennedy
- ROSC '67 - Brenda Moore-McCann
A break is included with tea and coffee provided.
