Visitors to Kilmainham Gaol Museum are now able to book paid tickets to visit Kilmainham Gaol Museum.
The new museum at Kilmainham Gaol, one of the nine key ‘Permanent Reminders' developed as part of the Government's Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, was opened by President Michael D. Higgins on March 30, 2016.
The project was made possible with the collaboration of the Courts Service who made the former Courthouse building (which dates back to 1820) available. The redevelopment has allowed the Office of Public Works, who manage the Gaol site, to offer a much improved level of service to the approximately 330,000 visitors who come to the site every year.
