ICOMOS Ireland in collaboration with the Irish National Committee of the Blue Shield are holding a short seminar to commemorate the International Day of Sites and Monuments 2014, on the theme of ‘commemoration'. As the Hague Convention is 60 years old this year, the event will feature three short presentations on the following topics:
A brief outline of the Blue Shield by Lar Joye, Assistant Keeper at the National Museum of Ireland and Chair of INCBS committee.
A note on the Hague Convention (1954) and its protocols by Dr Cathy Daly, INCBS committee
‘Reflecting on the climate/weather events of the last few months in the light of the Heritage Council and Fáilte Ireland's "Climate Change, Heritage and Tourism: Implications for Ireland's Coast and Inland Waterways" Report from 2009'. A presentation by Beatrice Kelly of the Heritage Council
The event will take place in the Custom House, Dublin on 17 April commencing at 14:00hrs and finishing 15:45hrs. This is a free event. All welcome.
