Posted: Friday, 16 November 2012

The next museum visit will be to the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks, Benburb Street, Dublin 7 for a tour of the Conservation Department on Saturday 24 November at 11:15 - 13:00. This is a free event and members are encouraged to bring a guest. Prospective members are also welcome. Meet at 11:15 in Exhibition Reception.

A unique opportunity to visit one of the most important Irish conservation facilities, based at Collins Barracks. Here staff carry out preventative conservation on some of the over 4 million objects in the National Collections, along with preparing objects for public display. Due to the sensitive nature of this visit, booking is essential and must be made in advance with the IMA office.
