Here and Now 2012 (Seminar)

Posted: Monday, 18 June 2012

Here and Now is an exploration of gallery visitors in Ireland specifically developed to gain insight into how audiences are engaging with the visual arts. It involved The Butler Gallery, The Glucksman, The Model, Royal Hibernian Academy and Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. These organisations gathered audience information in 2012 which has been examined and assessed by Audiences Northern Ireland.

As well as looking at the age range, gender and geographical spread of gallery attendees, the survey also investigated a broad range of subjects including the level of specialist knowledge had by each visitor; what motivated the gallery visit; what the experience was like, etc. This seminar is aimed at all involved in the visual arts, and will present the findings and investigate how such schemes assist with strategic planning, developing programmes and generating income.

Date: 4 July 2012
Venue: Harry Clarke room, National College of Art & Design, Thomas Street, Dublin
