National Museum of Ireland Develops New Collections Resource Centre ()

The National Museum of Ireland has announced a vacancy for a Manager for its new Collections Resource Centre. This 200,000 square feet facility (18,000 square metres) at Swords, Co. Dublin will house museum collections from various NMI sites. The manager will be responsible for planning and day to day operation of this facility and relocation of collections of several million objects over the next two years. The facility has high levels of environmental control and meets high standards of security and fire prevention. It includes collections storage areas and the necessary facilities for archives, library, canteen, study rooms for visitors, and work areas for photography, illustration and conservation. The collections receiving measures include quarantine and freezing.
