The MA in Historic House Studies programme examines the historic house within its social, cultural and economic context. It considers issues such as the rise and decline of the country house in Ireland, historic houses as sites for luxury consumption, and the evolution of landed estates and landscapes.
The course can be taken full-time over three academic semesters or part-time over a maximum of six semesters. The course comprises taught modules and a minor thesis based on original research. The course is delivered in the evenings (primarily) through lectures, seminars, tutorials and site visits.
