The Royal Irish Academy are inviting applications for Archaeology Research Grants Scheme, run in partnership with the National Monuments Service (Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht). The closing date is 17:00 (GMT), Friday 22nd March 2019.
The objective of this scheme is to fund research projects in Irish archaeology, which provide a significant and original contribution to archaeological knowledge. The research grant is intended to focus on an innovative and standalone research question with a standalone research answer.
Funding available: €8,000 is available for Archaeology Research grants in this round of funding. The scheme will be competitive, and the average grant awarded has previously been in the region of €800-€1,000. No one grant will exceed 50% of the total grant funding for the year.
