The Irish Museums Association welcomes as members anyone working in or with an interest in Irish museums.
There are five categories of membership available:
- Individual membership at the standard rate. This applies to most members of the IMA.
- Concessionary membership for unwaged individuals, students and those on low incomes.
- Group membership with 15% discount on each Individual Membership for six or more individuals joining at one time from a single institution.
- Corporate Sponsorship please contact us to discuss how your organisation can benefit from acknowledgement in our sponsors list in Museum Ireland.
- Commercial membership for businesses that provide services to the museum, gallery or heritage sector. (This includes a listing in the Services Directory on our website).
As a member of the IMA, you will receive:
- The twice-yearly IMA Newsletter, updating you on events and developments in the Irish museum world
- The annual journal Museum Ireland, published in autumn, containing information, review articles, and critical discussion pieces on issues of interest or concern to those working in Irish museums
- Information on the annual conference and the entitlement to attend at reduced membership rates
- Information on other special events organised by the IMA, including training courses and occasional lectures
- Email notification of news and events
- Networking opportunities to meet with people involved in the museum sector throughout Ireland, and through our Annual Conference, training courses and occasional lectures, with professionals from abroad
By joining our association you will not only receive the benefits of membership, but add to the representative strength of its voice in promoting the interests of museums to policy makers and all those with a say in how our sector is managed and developed.
